At Wingspan, we provide neurodivergent-affirming, LGBTQ+ inclusive evaluations for autism and ADHD for adults and teens. Our services are provided either in-person in Richmond, VA at our neuro-inclusive office or virtually throughout Virginia.
We specialize in supporting those who are higher masking, seeking diagnosis later in life, gifted/2E (twice exceptional), and/or desiring an affirming experience. We are particularly passionate about validating self-diagnosis, supporting parents who are seeking their own diagnosis after their child’s led to new or increased self-discovery, helping fellow therapists and healthcare professionals on their path to diagnosis, and working with adolescents and young adults who are seeking access to university accommodations.
As an AuDHD and LGBTQ+ owned practice, we integrate lived experience with best practice that is intentionally neurodivergent-centered. Our approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, centering your identity, autonomy, and goals within a collaborative, affirming process. We are deeply committed to providing an authentic and supportive client experience, and our evaluation services are built to reflect our values.

Our Approach
We approach autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergence as natural variations of being, not as deficits — every individual is unique and deserves to be met as they are, not expected to change to live fully within our neuronormative world.
We listen deeply, honor lived experience, and approach every client with respect, curiosity, and understanding. We seek to create an environment that feels welcoming and affirming, allowing each person to show up as their authentic self.
We challenge ableism and uphold social justice, disability and neurodiversity justice, body liberation (including using a HAES approach), anti-racism, sexuality and gender identity inclusion, and more — both personally and professionally.
We believe in providing neuro-affirming, non-pathologizing, strengths-based services that center our clients. We challenge the traditional deficit model of diagnostic evaluation and acknowledge the ways the DSM is rooted in systems of oppression; thus, we engage it only as an adaptive framework.
We honor self-diagnosis and view it as valid. At the same time, we recognize the ways that formal diagnosis can facilitate access to support and validation within our society, as well as be deeply personally affirming and supportive to ongoing self-discovery.
We offer services out-of-pocket to maintain client autonomy over diagnostic disclosure, while striving to maximize financial accessibility with our sliding scale accessible pricing model.
We honor the Core Principles of the Neurodiversity Affirming Practice framework.
